Student Grievance Redressal Committee/ Cell

The institution provides mechanism to the students for redressal of their grievances with regard to their complaints on academic and non-academic matters. The primary objective of grievance cell is to resolve the complaints of students, parents, and employees. This Institution aims to provide mechanism to the students for redressal of their grievances with regard to their complaints on academic and non-academic matters, grievances related to assessment, attendance, conducting of examinations, and harassment by colleague students etc.

The objective of the Grievance Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute. Students Grievance Redressal Cell has been constituted for the redressal of the problems reported by the students of the ACMs with the following functions:

  1. Redressal of Student’s Grievances.
  2. To co-ordinate between students’ and department to redress the grievances.
  3. To support the students who have been deprived of the services for which he/she is entitled.
  4. To ensure effective solution to the student grievances with an impartial and fair approach.

 5. To make teaching and supporting staff responsive, accountable courteous in dealing with the students.

SC/ST/OBC Cell

The SC/ST/OBC Cell addresses academic and non-academic issues and complaints of students/Faculty / Staff members from reserved categories. The University strives to maintain an environment where all communities can participate in academic and research activities without any sort of discrimination with respect to caste or creed. In order to maintain such an atmosphere, the SC/ST/OBC cell is responsible for sensitizing the campus community about the importance of having diversity.

The cell is where any complaints about discrimination and/or harassment are to be brought up. We encourage victims to feel free to contact authorised person for the same. The cell strives to ensure that anonymity is maintained throughout the investigation.

WOMEN’S GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

In order to maintain safety and security to the girls and women, a cell has been constituted for redressal of grievances. Our women grievance cell stays alert all the time to prevent any sexual abuse towards the students and female workers. If the students face any harassment from the staff or workers, then they can complain at our women grievance cell. The members will look into the issues, gather the evidence, and take the necessary action against the guilty. We also focus on preventing this kind of harassment by using secret monitory services, which keep a keen eye on the entire campus.

 Objective of the Women’s Grievance Redressal Cell:

  • The Cell will deal with the cases / complaints of sexual harassment and any other type of harassment of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college.
  • The Cell shall process all the individual complaints and take immediate suitable action.
  • The Cell will provide assistance to the Faculty/Colleges for taking preventive steps in the matter of gender discrimination and sexual harassment.
  • The Principal will be the Chairman of the Cell and may appoint members of the cell.

The Cell may form / review the guidelines / policy for redressal of the grievance as required from time to time, which may be in accordance with those issued by Supreme Court and Government Agencies. Women Harassment Committee for the year 2020-21 is formed comprising of the following members:-

ANTI-RAGGING CELL

As per the order of Supreme Court of India and subsequent Notification from University Grants Commission (UGC), ragging constitutes one or more of any intention by any student or group of students on:

  1. Any act of Indiscipline, Teasing or Handling with Rudeness.
  1. Any act that Prevents, Disrupts the Regular Academic Activity.
  2. Any activity which is likely to cause Annoyance, hardship, Psychological Harm or creates Fear or Apprehension.
  3. Any Act of Financial Extortion or Forceful Expenditure.
  4. Any Act of Physical Abuse causing Assault, Harm or danger to Health.
  5. Any Act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS or public insult etc.
  6. Any Act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to the human dignity.
  7. Any Act of Wrongful Confinement, Kidnapping, molesting or committing unnatural offences, use of criminal forces, trespass or intimidation.
  8. Any unlawful assembly or conspiracy to ragging.

Objectives of Anti Ragging Committee

Anti-Ragging Committee will be the Supervisory and Advisory Committee in preserving a Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the college Campus. The Anti-Ragging Squad- office bearers will work under the Supervision of Anti Ragging Committee and to engage in the works of checking places like Hostels, Buses, Canteens, Classrooms and other places of student congregation. Anti-Ragging Committee will be involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the Menace of Ragging in the college by adopting array of activities.

ANTI RAGGING SQUAD

Anti-Ragging Squad will be working under the Monitoring of Anti Ragging Committee and will seek advice from the Anti-Ragging Committee. The functions of Anti-Ragging Squad will be to keep a vigil and stop the incidences of Ragging, if any, happening / reported in the places of Student aggregation including, Classrooms, Canteens, Buses, Grounds, Hostels etc. The Squad will also educate the students at large by adopting various means about the menace of Ragging and related Punishments there to. A gamut of positive reinforcement activities are adopted by Anti-Ragging Squad for orienting students and moulding their personality for a better cause. They shall work in Consonance and Guidance of Anti Ragging Committee.

STUDENT DISCIPLINARY COUNCIL

The responsibilities of Council are as follows:

  • To maintain and enforce strict discipline within the college campus.
  • All the students should wear their ID Cards while they are in the campus and their respective class rooms.
  • In case of any violation of dress code or disturbance in the class, the ID card will be confiscated from the student which will be handed over to the student on the same day with a warning and advice from the Disciplinary Committee Members.
  • In case of any misbehavior or violation of the college rules, the ID cards of the students will be kept with the Disciplinary Committee Members till the enquiry is over.
  • To enforce total prohibition of cell phone usage by the students in the class room.
  • To monitor the movement of the students in the college and prevent students loitering around in the corridors during the college working hours.
  • To ensure that students maintain complete silence in the library.
  • To maintain proper discipline in the college canteen and student waiting room during the college working hours.
  • If any damage is caused to the college property by any student / group of students, the cost of the same will be recovered with a fine from the said student / group of this will be followed by disciplinary action.
  • If any indiscipline is found by any of the students, warn them on the first instance. Take disciplinary action based on the rules and regulations of the committee, if the pattern of misconduct continues.
