There's no one word answer to the choice of specialisations in MBA, because capabilities, objectives and dreams differ from person to person. You can check our website's Guide to Specialisations (in the Academics tab) for a brief on each of these specialisations, and choose 2 suitable specialisations as per your career ambition (both specialisations are major). While Finance, Marketing and Human Resource Management continue to be offered as traditional specialisations, we also have relatively modern choices in the face of Business Analytics, Agri-business Management and Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management.
Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D) is a doctorate course that you can pursue after your MBA(or a suitable masters' degree), in order to gain more traction in your career, or to consolidate your career as a college professor. Accepted with high grace in both academics and the industry, Ph.D. continues to remain a high value achievement. You can take admission on the basis of DAT, or your passed NET result, but there's likely to be an interview in both the cases. The first year passes in coursework and knowledge enhancement, as well as presenting the Research Proposal Summary(RPS) to the University appointed committee. If approved, the research work can be commenced as per the RPS, and thesis can be constructed. Ph.D may take from 3-6 years in full time mode, and 4-7 years in part time mode (i.e. doing Ph.D along with a job/ occupation).
Once the thesis is submitted and the degree of Ph.D is granted, the research scholar can prefix the title "Dr." to their name, and is entitled to a lot more attractive avenues & options in his/her career, than ever before.
